Granary Estates intimate weddingJess & James

Love is not cancelled πŸ™‚

Certainly not for Jess and James – this was their 4th date they planned their intimate wedding finally at Granary Estates. Their first date was meant to be in May 2020 so they had to postpone but they didn’t give up their dream of having a beautiful celebration.

There were many many changes of plans, changes of locations, changes in guest numbers… Jess kept adjusting the style and colours to the seasons from spring to autumn and to winter. They had such flexibility and such determination to organise their dream wedding, I was completely sure it was going to be amazing!

And it really was…

Mornings aren’t cancelled either!

We were with Jess and James from the morning preparations. It is such an important part of the day full of anticipation and excitement. We always recommend to have this part documented because without it part of your story is lost. Not to mention you can’t see what your other half was doing all morning!

Jess got ready at her parents’ house with her mum and her brother and of course her dog, Lily. Who completely stole the show when decided to get comfy right next to the stunning bridal dress.

James got ready with his parents and his best man at their house. There was a lot of time spent on ties πŸ™‚ His mum helped with the buttonholes which is usually the other big struggle of the morning πŸ™‚

Then we all headed to the church in Cambridge where they had a beautiful Christmassy ceremony.

Intimate wedding celebration at Granary Estates

When we walked into the Flint Barn at Granary Estates for the intimate wedding celebration, I could not believe how beautiful everything was! Jess paid so much attention even to the smallest details. And of course the cake… well, it had to be beautiful because Jess is an amazing professional cakemaker! It turned out to be one of my favourite cake setups ever. So simple yet full of details and such beautiful colours.

And there was champagne and canapes and beautiful couple photos and first dance with confetti and cake cutting… not much different from a big wedding!

We stayed for the speeches which were all funny and emotional at the same time. And because it was such an intimate wedding, everyone could be mentioned personally which was also so lovely.

I think if Jess and James’s intimate wedding did not convince you that small weddings are amazing and numbers don’t matter, nothing will πŸ™‚

Thank you so much Jess, James and your guest for having us, it was such a special day!
