Horsley Hale Farm wedding photos - stunning outdoors venue
One of my forever favourite wedding venues is Horsley Hale Farm, so I was very excited when Melody and Martin got in touch last year. From the moment we met it was clear that this was going to be a very relaxed day.
We also did a pre-wedding shoot one evening so we could turn up on the wedding day more like friends and not strangers.
In the morning Melody got ready in the yurt. All the bridesmaids had their makeup done in the little outdoor kitchen area. It was raining but luckily they could all fit under the roof.
Martin arrived later with the boys and headed to the tipi and the lake to check the final touches. There were a lot of handmade items which added such a lovely feel to the day. They did macrame plant hangers as wedding favours, what a sweet idea!
When Melody left the yurt for the ceremony, it was still raining but it stopped just as she was walking towards the lake! It was the most relaxed ceremony I have ever witnessed. Even their little boy joined in :)
Vegan wedding
Melody and Martin are both vegan so it was obvious that they needed caterers who can provide vegan food for their day. They hired The Wandering Yak who served some amazingly colourful and tasty food and even the cutlery was compostable.
Lots of their items were handmade, flowers grown in families and friends' gardens so all felt very much sustainable.
Rainy wedding photos
Thankfully Melody and Martin were not scared of some water! It was pretty much raining all day but conveniently stopped for the ceremony and for confetti throw. That meant most the the couple photos we did in rain. It gave a lot of mood and atmosphere which we would not have had with sunshine :)
Horsley Hale Farm has a beautiful tree avenue so we were using this spot as the rain wasn't as heavy there. I just love the festoon lights between these trees!
Party at Horsley Hale Farm
Melody's friend, Zoe was singing for their first dance and a few songs after. The dancefloor was packed and everyone was partying all night! Even the dogs :) Thank you so much guys for having us, we had such a great day with you! With thanks to all suppliers:
