Danesfield House Wedding

Ilaria and Ian got in touch towards the end of last year about their Danesfield House wedding. After a few emails we had a chat over the phone and it instantly felt like we have known each other for a long time. Their plans sounded like music to my ears - relaxed, informal and... lots of candles!!

Fairytale scenes at Danesfield House

This was my first wedding at Danesfield House and when we arrived in the morning, I was mesmerised by the beauty of this venue. Both outside and inside is just incredible, it really does look like a fairytale castle!

We worked along with Mark from White In Motion Films and we both arrived early so had plenty of time to look around in the gardens for beautiful spots for photos later. Ilaria got ready with her mum and bridesmaids in a spacious, light room. There was lots of laughter and champagne. Ilaria is originally from Italy and her family and friend flew over for the wedding and everyone was just so stylish! Ilaria's dress and headpiece was so simple yet stunning and suited her so well, she really did look like a movie star.

Stunning ceremony and drinks reception settings

Ian was nervously waiting for Ilaria in the ceremony room. It was one of the most beautiful ceremony settings I have seen, there were gorgeous flowers by Stemtation and candles. The room itself was just simply stunning with lots of natural light coming through the windows and lovely warm colours.

The ceremony was just so heartwarming and personal, both Ilaria and Ian looked so so happy, it was just lovely to witness their love for each other.

After the ceremony we all went to another grand room for drinks and canapes. The band, Red Hot Rags, played amazing background music and their style suited the wedding perfectly.

Once the guests were called for wedding breakfast, we spent a couple of minutes to get a few quick photos of Ilaria and Ian. The breakfast was served in the same room as the ceremony and to my happiness there were more candles! The speeches were between courses and all of them were so emotional, some were in Italian, some in English and all were translated to the other language which I found very sweet...I also had some competition going on with a very young photographer!

After the speeches there was coffee and tea for the guests and photo time for Ilaria and Ian. It was very cold outside but we managed to get the last of the daylight and that gave us some beautiful photos. When we went back inside, the cut the cake - it was such a beautiful and tasty cake made by Dolce Lusso Cakes!

Then... it was party time! We had such an incredible day, thank you Ilaria and Ian for having us!
